What this covers

This note covers the pages of onetrulight.org and the Stay in the Light list. It does not cover Patreon, the OTL Creative store, Etsy, Mailchimp's own signup pages, or any other site you reach from here. Each of those has its own policy.

What we collect

When you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, and your message. The form turns them into an email to our mailbox and stores nothing on this site. Resend, the service that delivers that email, keeps a copy of the message and its delivery record for about 30 days.

When you join Stay in the Light, the form sends your email address from your browser straight to Mailchimp, which runs the list, and opens Mailchimp's signup page in a new tab. Mailchimp records the address along with the IP address, time, and approximate location of the signup. Emails from the list may record when they are opened and which links are clicked. This site keeps no copy.

When you email us directly, we receive your address and whatever you write.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how the site is used in general. It reports anonymous, aggregated activity such as which pages were visited, where visitors came from, approximate location, browser, operating system, device type, and time of visit. It does not use third-party cookies. Vercel describes these analytics data points as anonymous and not associated with an individual or IP address. We do not connect them to your email address.

Like any web host, Vercel also keeps technical logs of requests to the site, such as IP address and the page asked for, for a limited time, to run and secure the service.

The Trilogy of Erasure keeps your place as you read, so the LIVE page can open once you have walked the three doors. That record lives in your own browser and never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data clears it.

How we use it

We use what we collect to

• reply when you write to us
• send the teaching you asked for by email
• run, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the site
• meet legal obligations and protect our rights

We do not sell personal information. We do not share email addresses for anyone else's marketing or for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who helps us run the site

A few service providers handle information for us.

• Vercel hosts the site, keeps its request logs, and provides the anonymous analytics described above.
• Resend delivers contact form messages to our mailbox.
• Mailchimp holds the Stay in the Light list, sends its emails, and can report on opens and clicks.
• Hostinger hosts our mailbox.

Each of them processes information on our behalf under its own terms and privacy commitments. Outside of those providers, we share information only when reasonably necessary to comply with the law, answer a lawful request, prevent harm or misuse, or protect the rights and safety of the ministry and others.

Your choices

You decide whether to join the list. Every email from it carries an unsubscribe link. If that link ever fails, reply to the email or write to info@onetrulight.org and we will take you off as soon as we can.

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information tied to your email address. Write to info@onetrulight.org. We may ask you to confirm the address is yours before we act.

Depending on where you live, you may have other privacy rights. We will respond to those requests as the law requires.

How long we keep it

Messages you send stay in our mailbox for as long as we need them to reply and to keep our records. Your list subscription stays with Mailchimp until you unsubscribe. After that, Mailchimp keeps a record of that choice so you are not added back by mistake. Resend keeps contact form messages for about 30 days, and Vercel keeps its request logs for a limited time.

You can ask us to delete your information. We may keep a limited record where the law requires it or where we need it to honor an unsubscribe.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No website or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

This site and its list are not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.

Where information is processed

One True Light Ministries is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries whose privacy laws differ from your own.

Changes

We may update this note as the site and our practices change. When we do, we will change the date at the top.
